iSTART Intelligent Tutoring System

I led the design, development, implementation, and evaluation of iSTART, an intelligent tutoring system aimed at improving text comprehension for adult literacy learners across a range of subjects. The system was crafted to provide tailored support through interactive lessons and adaptive feedback that addressed individual learning needs. By integrating advanced instructional strategies, iSTART enabled users to build critical reading skills and apply them in diverse contexts. My role spanned the entire project lifecycle, from conceptualizing and creating the system to assessing its effectiveness in achieving educational goals. iSTART had a significant impact, empowering adult learners to engage more confidently with complex texts and enhancing their overall literacy skills.
